Mission: to perform an excellence scientific investigation and promoting biomedicine education, contributing to elucidate new cellular mechanisms and relevant molecules, that help the compunction of progressive and chronic diseases as Alzheimer, Cancer, hypertension and muscular dystrophy.
Vission: to consolidate and project the work done during eight years in biomedicine academic training and scientific investigation establishing the bases on which its supported the new Aging and Regeneration Center, CARE. To become an encounter spot between basic science and applied knowledge in the study of cellular regulation.
Objetives:
- To generate basic knowledge about cellular and molecular biology phenomenon that constitute the physiology and pathology basis and that are required for biomedicine's progress.
- To shape an optimum environment for the basic and clinical researchers interaction.
- To investigate pathologies that appear from multifactorial alterations of the cellular regulation, as the Alzheimer's disease, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, muscular dystrophy.
- To promote the effort of researchers in these areas promoting complementary collaborations in knowledge and experimental resources.
- To increase the quantity and quality of human resources qualified in Biological Sciences in Chile.
- To facilitate the incorporation of new researchers to the scientific community in the Biological sciences field. Elaborate training joint programs of pre- and post-degree in basic areas for Biomedicine, deficit in the country.
- To use as link for more equitable collaborations between national biologists and developed countries biologists.
- To offer support to the development of Biomedicine research lines.
- To incorporate and to make the most advanced technologies of investigation in Cellular and Molecular Biology and in Physiology available. To organize Courses, Conferences and Scientific Meetings destined to spread the knowledge and facilitating the contact between scientists in training with border scientists, national and foreigners, in the mentioned areas.
